COFFEE

Low-Acidity Coffee Extract provides the right amount of caffeine to give you a boost of energy and
that classic flavor you love, without causing the crash, digestive issues, or adrenal fatigue of regular
coffee. Caffeine isn’t evil – but the high amounts combined with the high acidity of most regular
coffee can reek havoc on your body over time.

THE HISTORY
The discovery of the coffee bean is unknown, however, cultivation and trade is thought to have
begun on the Arabian Peninsula in the 1400s. It began growing in popularity in Europe during
the 1600s but didn’t rise to stardom in the Americas until the late 18th century when the
colonists stopped drinking tea to revolt against heavy taxes. Today, it is one of the most loved
drinks around the world.
THE EVIDENCE FOR COFFEE
Increased Energy
The caffeine in coffee stimulates the central nervous system and blocks the action of the
neurotransmitter adenosine, which makes you feel tired. (Note - too much caffeine can cause
adenosine to build up in the body, causing the energy to crash when the coffee wears off.)

Better Endurance
Many people use coffee as a pre-workout to get that extra kick and push themselves a little bit
harder – and research supports this use. One study found that coffee significantly increases
bothspeed, power, and endurance when consumed an hour before working out.
